Black, white and cosy in Stockholm

Morning! I hope you had a great weekend? We had such an amazing time in Ravello on the Amalfi Coast at my friend's wedding (have you ever been, it's so beautiful there?!). Back to rain here in Malmö with a bump and there's a distinct feel of Autumn in the air. This fab black, white and grey apartment is part of a new project by JM in Stockholm. The soft sheepskin furs and rugs create a perfect haven for cosy Autumn days as the light fades and the leaves turn to yellow. Perhaps it's not all bad to come back to the rain after all!

What do you reckon? Your kind of space?

If you love the cross blanket as much as I do (and I shouldn't be telling you this as I'm hoping to win it myself....) there's a fab little competition to win one here!

For more 'cosy' inspiration check out this post..... I need to go and dig out my ultra soft, ultra woolly slippers!

PS My wonderful sponsor Smallable is celebrating it's 5th birthday this week with chances to win fab prizes everday,  you can also make the most of discounts and other surprises - don't miss out here! I have my eye on the Oeuf prize!

So many competitions....such little time :)

A white Gothenburg apartment

What would a week be here on My Scandinavian Home without a home tour from one of my favourite Swedish estate agents?! This home in Gothenburg is a vision in all white softened by the exposed brick wall, black furniture and touches of geometric fabrics. Beautifully styled and photographed by Stadshem.

Stadshem

I think my idea to steal here are the industrial bare lightbulbs in the kitchen hung at different heights. What about you?

PS I spy the very cool Thonet chairs (15% off with discount MYSCAN :) again in the kitchen- they're everywhere this year (the Eames of 2013?). I also spy what looks like the Muuto stacked shelving system in the hallway.

I'm heading off to a great friend of mine's wedding this weekend, so exciting! I hope I'll get the chance to blog tomorrow but in case I don't, have a fantastic weekend!

A monochrome Melbourne home

Today's home has a very different look from yesterday's Stockholm apartment, even though they are both decorated in monochrome. This double fronted weatherboard cottage in Melbourne was seamlessly adapted by Techne Architects. I love the way the light falls in the house and the way wood is used to soften the black and white interior.

Pretty cool right? I love the book shelves (and of course the 'Hungry Caterpillar' book in the fireplace - did you read this as a child?).

Which monochrome home is more your style - today's or yesterdays? Or perhaps this Finnish one or this Danish one?! So many different ways to do black and white!

A stunning Stockholm home

Every now again I come across a real cracker of a home and when I do, I get so excited that I can't wait to share it with you and hear your thoughts! This is one of them. It comes as no surprise that this Stockholm apartment (currently for sale) belongs to the owners of beautiful Swedish interior shop Artilleriet. Simply fabulous, I'm not sure where to start.....

Hemnet

What do you think, could you live here?

I spy oodles of designer furniture including the Thonet chairs (15% off with code MYSCAN), Bombay print, No early beds writing desk, and Gubi Adnet Mirror

Have a lovely day!

Monday DIY - the simplest, cutest idea ever.

Hello Monday! I hope you had a great weekend? If you're looking for a simple way to update your home this week or even just something creative to do, how about this incredibly simple yet cool textile / wallpaper project? It's the brainchild of Frk Hansen who was inspired by Ferm Living's beautiful half-moon wallpaper. Frk Hansen used a fabric marker, textile paint, and a potato to create the monochrome design. Yes, a potato! I'm on it!

Pretty cool project don't you think? You could always swap the half moons for hearts like in the image below (or buy very cute heart stickers from Ferm Living).

Ferm Living
And while we're on the subject of children's rooms (although even as an adult I could definitely have those half-moons and hearts on my wall, couldn't you?!), I'm extremely excited to introduce my new sponsor Babyssimo who sells the most cute children's things ever. Cue gorgeous baby pyjamas, accessories (mittens with faces anyone?!), and measuring giraffes. Oh and there's their Tocoto Vintage range too....*sigh* can one of my friends have a baby soon please so I can get shopping?

Have a lovely Monday!

An apartment in Stockholm with a happy glow

It's Friday - woohooo! Up to anything great this weekend? I think I'll be doing a lot of lazing around with my family in the last of the summer sun and enjoying long breakfasts like the one seen in these inspiring images. It's amazing what a difference pops of yellow do to a space, the colour instantly adds warmth and happiness. I love the way it's used as an accent against the soft pastels and greys too.

Fantastic Frank via Feel inspired

This home makes me feel happy, how about you?

If you feel like seeing more work from Fantastic Frank check out the homes here and here. And if it's a spot of of yellow you're after, there's a whole host of homes using a pop of yellow here!

I hope you have a fantastic weekend full of long breakfasts and little rays of sunshine!

See you Monday!

A lovely Gothenburg apartment

Morning! Nearly the weekend - yay! It's starting to become a tradition for me to show the latest apartments for sale in Gothernburg - simply because they give us so much inspiration! This apartment staged and on the market through Stadshem is no exception with it's picture walls and moodboards, monochrome with accent colour scheme, open wardrobe and fab Danish furniture. Let's take a peek.....

Stadshem

There's a whole load of Hay love in this apartment with the Strap MirrorDLM (Son't Leave Me!) Side table, About a Lounge Chair in the sitting room, and the About a Chair Swivel in the kitchen. And we're pretty sure that's the Normann Copenhagen Block Side Table in light grey. It's fab Danish design all round!

Any ideas you'd like to steal from this home?
